I constructed Master Chief's Helmet from scratch. Here are materials and process I used to make the helmet: Old Stunt Helmet Cardboard Masking Tape Thick Scotch Tape Paper Mache: 1 Cup Water, 1 Cup Flour, and some salt Green Acrylic Paint Sports Medicine PreWrap and Tape Yellow Tap Plastic Super Glue I started by removing the leather straps that would have attached to my chin, but they did not work. I then used reference pictures to make a cardboard outline of the helmet. I used the paper mache to make it strong. I then painted, added support and padding in the helmet. I added a second coat of paint and then glued the visor, two sheets of plastic, onto the helmet. Have fun making your own. Cost: $30 |
